George Wyner (born October 20, 1945) is an American film and television actor. He is probably best known for his role as ADA Bernstein on the series Hill Street Blues. George makes a guest appearance on Married... with Children as Ronald N. Michaels, a TV network executive in the Season 9 episode titled "No Pot To Pease In".

Early life and career[]

Born in Boston, MA to Jewish parents, George's father, Edward, founded and managed Boston's Ritz Carlton Hotel, which was the premier society hotel in Boston through the 1950s. Edward Wyner died while his son was in high school.

A graduate from Syracuse University in 1968 as a drama major, George was an in-demand character actor by the early 1970s. To date, Wyner has made guest appearances in over 100 television series and co-starred in nine. He is also noted for memorable turns in cult classics such as Spaceballs, American Pie 2 and Fletch.

The Steven Bochco/MTM Connection[]

Wyner was introduced to producer Steven Bochco while appearing in Bochco's short-lived 1976 series, Delvecchio. This led to the role as Irwin Bernstein in Hill Street, and to roles in 4 subsequent Bochco productions: Doogie Howser, M.D., Brooklyn South, NYPD Blue and L.A. Law. Additionally, Wyner has appeared on the following programs for Hill Street's production company, MTM Enterprises: Rhoda, The Bob Newhart Show, The White Shadow, WKRP in Cincinnati and Newhart.
