Alley of the Dolls is the ninth episode of Season 2 of Married... with Children, also the 22nd overall series episode. Directed by Linda Day and written by Sandy Sprung and Marcy Vosburgh, it originally aired on FOX on November 8, 1987.

Synopsis

Al and his family (with the unwilling help of Steve and Marcy) bowl against Peggy's high school rival and her family.

Episode summary

When Peggy bumps into her old school nemesis, Mimi, in the ninth episode of season two, then the stage is send for a "bowl off" between their two families. Mimi has three children, however, so Steve is brought in to belch his way to Bundyhood, and help them secure victory, which seems assured when Steve agrees to join the Bundys for the bowling match against Mimi and her obnoxious family. But, when Bud reveals that he doesn't know how to bowl because he has squandered his bowling lesson money, it then prompts Steve to coach Bud on the pointers of bowling.

  • Debrorah Harmon, who plays Peggy's rival, Mimi, would later appear again on MWC as another rival of Peggy, June Morgan, in the season 10 episode, "The Joke's on Al".
  • This episode shows the first time the Bundys perform the "Whoa Bundy!"

Goofs

  • Among other errors on the bowling score sheet, Al is shown with a 140 in the 7th frame. The scorecard shows he bowled a strike in the 8th and a spare in the 9th. In the 10th frame, with the game on the line, he bowls 2 strikes and a zero, which would give him a total score of 200. A few minutes later in the episode, Al says "I still bowled a 175!"
