Wikia MWC - Al on Bundy curse

Al explaining to the kids that Mommy doesn't suffer from the curse, she's part of it

The Bundy Curse is the crutch, or superstition, that Al Bundy believes will keep a true Bundy, though mostly the males, from being truly happy, ultimately becoming failures despite any current or potential skill they may possess and chances of actual success. There are several different aspects of the curse, and many reasons given for its start and what is, and is not a part of it.

Al once explained to Bud and Kelly Bundy that their mother, Peggy Bundy wasn't truly a Bundy, being so only through marriage. As a result, he considers her to be a part of the curse and thus Al, Bud, and Kelly are the true Bundys who will suffer from the curse. (MWC: "Peggy Turns 300")

In "And Baby Makes Money", Kelly doubted Al's Uncle Stymie Bundy was a real Bundy because he was wealthy. Al credited Stymie's success to the fact Stymie never got married.

In "Kelly Does Hollywood (Part 1)", after Kelly's show, Vital Social Issues 'N Stuff with Kelly, has managed to be on for three weeks, Bud wonders if it is truly possible for a show such as hers to be a hit. Al tells him that while he doesn't know about various things in life, he knows that, as a Bundy, Kelly is bound to fail like every other Bundy, leaving Bud feeling depressed.

In "Kelly Does Hollywood (Part 2)" after Kelly's show is retooled and eventually cancelled, Al gloats that nothing bad has happened to him, implying the curse may have ended for him while the "Bundy Cloud of Failure" has moved over to Bud and Kelly. Though, a moment later, he finds out that an idea he had pitched to Jeff Littlehead titled Shoe Trek was stolen and made into a television show featuring actor Joe Piscopo. After changing channels and finding nothing left to watch except the The Facts of Life, Al decides to use the remote as a gun and shoot himself in the head while Kelly and Bud sing along to the show's theme song.

In medieval England, a witch, Poxilda, cast a curse on the village of Lower Uncton, after the village blacksmith, Seamus McBundy insulted her. Lower Uncton was cast into perpetual darkness, to last until the last Bundy male was slain. After Seamus tossed in another insult, she added two additional curses: that he and his descendants "would only shoe the large and ungrateful", and their feet would sweat and stink for all eternity. The curse on Lower Uncton was broken when Al defeated a descendant of the witch, though the other two curses seem to have held. ("The England show Trilogy")

In "Luck of the Bundys", when Al started to have good luck, he told Peg the curse would bring an equal amount of bad luck to any male Bundy who admits to having been fortunate. The Bundy Curse of bad luck returned at the end of the episode.

In "Requiem for a Chevyweight (Part 1)” Another part of the Bundy curse is Al’s dodge car that ruined his life. Al having sex with Peg that conceive Kelly Bundy after Al scored 4 touchdowns in one game in city championship in Polk High. That ruined Al’s life, even working as a summer job in high school as a women shoe salesman ending up working their full time. Kelly Bundy used to be really smart until a car crash led her to be dumb girl that she is today. Kelly high intelligence and goodness was transferred to Bud.
